In my last post on SAP HANA I promised we’ll have a short discussion around SAP Fiori. I’ll keep my promise with a very short post now. Short for two reasons – One, since I’m really short on time. Two, since there is only little knowledge I have on Fiori by itself.

But let’s start with the first reason – why am I short on time? Writing your master thesis can be a very intense learning process. After working a few years and then going back to school has a lot of advantages. I will list one that is not – Writing a 100+ page document that essentially gives you your degree šŸ™‚ In the last 2 weeks I have slept a little under 40 hours. Writing, then re-writing, then re-structuring and then re-doing various parts of your thesis in hope to get a ‘green-light’ is somewhat time-consuming and mind-numbing.

Love moves the world

I asked for light in the darkness of the night
I asked for rain as the sun scorched bright
I asked for life when death was close
I asked for help when the doors looked closed

You’ve given me more, there cannot be complaints
You’ve given me a smile, it’s taken away all pains
You’ve given me people who love me failsafe
You’ve given me you – such a blessing – I feel so safe

It’s long you’ve gone
and I’m waiting for you
Tears well up in my eyes
at the very thought of you
Am I so bad I’m away from you
you are in me, yet I yearn to see you

Come back to me
Come back real soon
I’m waiting for you just once to see you
no need of wants
no wants of need
I’ll trade it all for a glimpse of you
Come back to me
Come back real soon
I’ll trade it all just to be with you.

Two weeks ago, I’m sure almost everyone in the technology worldĀ were surprised, maybe stunned, after readingĀ Larry Ellison’sĀ announcement of at least 2 of the 3 partnerships.Ā MicrosoftĀ (the heart skipped a beat),Ā Salesforce.comĀ (held the breath) andĀ NetSuiteĀ (relaxed breath and thank god for making sure it was not strike 3 šŸ˜‰ )

The Oracle Microsoft Partnership

The Reaction to the Oracle Announcements

Over the next couple of weeks I hope to write something aboutĀ NetSuiteĀ and Salesforce.com (the former is one I have watched and followed closely since the summer of 2012, along withĀ Workday), but today and now I want to talk about theĀ Microsoft-OracleĀ partnership. The feud and almost passionate hate between the two companies is long known. Maybe you could read anĀ entertaining articleĀ on that part.
